The process has been termed as reflux, which results in veins enlarging and transforming into varicose. When the veins transform into varicose, they tend to lose their ability of snapping back in the right shape. It would become similar to plastic rather than being elastic. Varicose veins have not been popular for self-healing. Either the condition would become stabilized with the compression hose or you would be required to make use of vein treatments. The larger saphenous vein would be the common damaged vein leading to varicose veins in the leg.
